Creating sites
If you need to understand how to add and configure sites and add hosts to Avassa we recommend the following collection of documents. The target audience for these documents are a site provider that is responsible for the edge infra-structure. It is however also recommended reading for application owners since applications may be dependant on site configuration, for example: device discovery, GPUs, site ingress networking.
Site providers
-
Get an overall understanding of sites.
-
Make sure you are fulfilling the host and network requirements and plan your configuration.

A step-by-step tutorial on how to add the site, this is your main document.
-
Do you need to restrict resource usage?
-
Do you want to control when applications are upgraded at the sites?
-
The Avassa agent Edge Enforcer (supd) is automatically updated on the sites. During the short update (less than a minute) local APIs will not respond. Any deployed applications are NOT impacted. You can define time windows per site when the update shall happen.
-
Read this if you need to perform maintenance tasks like replacing a host.
-
The full reference documentation for sites provides detailed information on site configuration and state.
Good reading for both application owners and site providers
-
Do you need to prepare for external devices like sensors/cameras and/or GPUs?
-
Do the applications need storage? Read the documentation on how to configure storage and how to configure volumes
-
Do the applications need different configuration for different sites?
