Introduction

These recommended readings guide you through the Avassa documentation based on your role and task.

There are two main roles using Avassa:

  • Site provider: manages the edge infrastructure: edge sites and hosts
  • Application owner: develops and deploys applications to the edge sites. (Sometimes referred to as application developers).

The list of recommended readings and respective target audience are:

  • Creating sites and adding hosts: How to add sites and hosts to Avassa. Useful primarily for site providers.
  • Defining applications: How to define a container application with associated configuration. Useful primarily for application owners.
  • Volumes: How to define volumes at the site and use them in applications. Useful for both roles since volumes need to exist on the site in order for applications to use them.
  • Application networks: How to define and use application networks at the site, for example ingress networks. Useful for both roles since network configuration need to prepared on the site in order for applications to use for example ingress networks.
